- Sometimes, depending on the configuration of both the aluminum windows and doors itself and its orientation, the Bi-Metal effect can occur, i.e the polyamide profiles is doing its job being deformed because the outer profile accumulates excessive heat compared to the interior. The outer frame expands and may cause distortion of the window or door, air tightness failure and locking difficulties.
- To solve this problem, Kronos has designed an unique longitudinal relief type polyamide strips to release the “bimetallic effect” of thermal expansion and contraction.
Cavities will be formed after the polymide insulation strips being inserted between the inner and outer frames of aluminum windows and doors. When the cavities reach certain size, air to air heat exchange in the cavities will occur. For the characteristics of convective heat transfer, a large cavity is divided into samller cavities so that it cannot effectively form convection, thereby achieving the goal of reducing the efficiency of convective heat transfer.
